Bruce A. Reichman 

 

Bruce Reichman was raised in Miami Beach, Florida, and graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso. Coach Reichman is a charter faculty member of Del Valle High School, and the only Men’s Soccer Coach since its inception in 1987. He has served as a a board member with the Sun Bowl Association, and Chairman of the Sun Bowl Soccer Tournament. He was inducted into the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009, elected vice President of the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010, and then served two terms as President, 2012 and re-elected for the 2013 term. Coach Reichman was inducted into the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches Organization Hall of Honor November 2012. In June 2012, Coach Reichman was named to ESPN’s list of most “winningest” High School Soccer Coaches in the United States. In 2021 Coach Reichman became  the All Time Texas High School coach with the most wins.

 

Coach Reichman has earned numerous honors at Del Valle including Who's Who of American Teachers and the El Paso Times Coach of the Year in 1992, 1998, 1999, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2013, 2016 and 2017. He is also the 2008 National Federation of High Schools, State  Coach of the Year and Sectional Coach of the Year as well as the 2008 UIL Texas State Coach of the Year. The Texas Association  of Soccer Coaches named him “Coach of The Year” in 2012 and “Regional Coach of the Year in 2013. In 2013, he

was recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as the Coach of the Year for the State of Texas and  small school National Coach of the Year. On August 13, 2013 and hereafter, The Mayor and City Council of El Paso, Texas Proclaimed “Coach Bruce A. Reichman Day." On May 23, 2014 a documentary film entitled “The El Paso Conquest” was released highlighting Coach Reichman's work with the Del Valle High  School Soccer program.

In April 2018, the Ysleta Independent School District and Del Valle High School, approved the naming of the field at Del Valle, the "Coach Bruce Reichman Field". 

 

Coach Reichman has coached the Del Valle Men’s Soccer Team to 137 championship titles, including: six trips to the Final Four and two State Championships in 2005 and 2008. One Runner – Up in 2013. Three Bronze medalist in 1999, 2004 and 2021. 25 District Championship Titles, 28 Bi-District Championship Titles, 22 Area Championship Titles, 17 Sectional Championship Titles, 18 Quarter Final Championship Titles, 13 Sweet 16 Championship Titles, 6 Elite 8 Championship Titles, and 6 Final Four Appearances.
